Simple Privacy Statement

Hey! I'm Amir, the developer behind ReWrite. I believe your privacy is a fundamental right. That's why I've designed this extension to work without collecting any of your personal data. Simple as that.

1. Data Collection

I do not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• No personal information (names, emails, phone numbers)
• No browsing history or website tracking
• No usage analytics or behavior tracking
• No cookies or persistent identifiers

2. How Data is Used

When you use ReWrite to correct text, here's exactly what happens:

1. You select text and click the ReWrite icon
2. Your text is sent securely (via HTTPS) to OpenAI's API for grammar and spelling correction
3. The corrected text is returned to your browser
4. No data is stored by me at any point in this process

The text you send is used only for generating grammar corrections and is immediately discarded after processing.

3. Data Sharing - Third Parties

Your text is temporarily shared with one third party:

No other third parties have access to your data. I do not share, sell, or transfer your information to anyone else.

4. Browser Permissions

ReWrite requires these browser permissions to function:

• Active Tab: To read and correct text on the page you're currently viewing (only when you click the extension icon)
• Host Permissions: To work on websites you visit (only activated when you use the extension)

These permissions are used only to read text you select for correction. I do not use these permissions to track, monitor, or collect any other data from websites you visit.

5. Data Security

All communication between the extension and OpenAI's API is encrypted using HTTPS. Since I don't store any data, there's no database or server that could be compromised.

6. Your Rights

Since I don't collect or store any personal data, there's nothing for me to delete, modify, or provide to you. You maintain complete control over your data simply because I never have access to it beyond the temporary text correction process.

7. Changes to This Policy

If I ever change my privacy practices, I'll update this page and notify users through the extension. However, my commitment to not collecting user data will remain unchanged.
